|Susan E. Feldmann
Director of Music
Director of Junior, Youth and Adult Choirs
Susan Feldmann, was born in Butler, Pennsylvania,
but relocated to York when her parents moved here in 1970. She began
her life-long commitment to church music when she joined Advent’s
Junior Choir at the age of 7. Susan also participated in school
music programs at Central York High School, Albright College, and
other music groups in the York community. .
Upon her arrival back from college in 1985 to work in nursing at
York Hospital, Susan undertook the direction of the Advent Junior
Choir. As the choir grew and matured, Susan and other Advent youth
leaders expanded the program to include the Summer Musical and
Coffee House programs and More Than A Song Youth Choir.
In 2004, Susan left nursing to pursue a fuller commitment to
music. She graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a B.S.
degree in Music Education in 2008. She maintains an active private
studio teaching voice, piano, and flute lessons. She is also an
accompanist for York College and local middle and high schools.
Sue and her husband Steve met at Advent, were married here and
have 3 amazing children, Diana, John, and Gregory.
Music, Sue believes, emotionally connects people to God at all
ages. A favorite Bible verse of hers is Isaiah 11:6 - “And a little
child shall lead them,” because she continually is being taught
about and experiences God’s love through Advent’s young people.
